When you purchase a Sentinel Node license after the DUNE Token has started trading on different exchanges, the rewards for your node will begin to accumulate as soon as you activate your node.

   Once you activate your node, the rewards reserved for your license will start to be distributed to you. The full reward potential of 500,000 DUNE tokens is reserved for each node license, and you will receive a proportional amount of rewards based on the amount of time your node is active.

   The maximum possible reward for each license, which is 500,000 DUNE tokens over 40 months, is reserved for every purchased node license. ## 1. Token holders

#### Rights

DUNE token holders (Token holders) have the right to vote within the scope of governance of Alpha Dune DAO. They can vote with their vested and unvested tokens and delegate their voting power.

#### Responsibilities

Token holders are encouraged:

1. To actively participate in decision-making processes, by expressing their opinions on proposals, discussions, and voting.
2. To delegate their voting rights to trustworthy individuals or entities, if they cannot actively participate.
3. To fully understand the consequences of their votes by conducting their own research to ensure informed decisions. If they are not able to commit to this due diligence, delegation is recommended

## 2. Delegates

#### Delegation process

The delegation process is off-chain. Token holders can delegate their votes to any address of their choice. The current delegation system requires full delegation of the voting power. Partial delegation may be implemented. Token holders can redelegate or undelegate at any time.

#### Rights

Delegates can vote on behalf of token holders who delegated their voting rights to them. Delegates may not delegate their delegated voting right to someone else.

#### Responsibilities

Delegates should be actively involved and responsible for representing the interests of the token holders, participating in decision-making processes, and facilitating transparent and effective governance. As such, delegates should provide a short reasoning on each of their votes on Snapshot through its commentary function.

## 3. Guardians

#### Guardians selection

Alpha Dune Guardians are active members of the Alpha Dune community, who have demonstrably proven their dedication to Alpha Dune DAO’s vision. They guide the Alpha Dune ecosystem and protocol, while facilitating the adoption of web3 gaming and finance applications. They are aligned with the mission and vision of the DAO, and are likely to be actively participating in governance. #### Rights

Guardians can vote with their tokens granted as part of the agreed payment policy.

#### Responsibilities

As outlined here, Alpha Dune Guardians are expected to:

1. Keep up with announcements and discussions.
2. Give feedback on Alpha Dune Proposals (ADPs) which will also serve as a signal to other community members.
3. Move proposals which are mature enough for a voting from Phase 1 to Phase 2.
4. Vote on ADPs via the Alpha Dune Snapshot space.
5. Provide a reasoning on each of their votes on the Alpha Dune DAO forum and on Snapshot through its commentary function.
6. Push new ideas that could transition to proposals.

# Governance Cycles

## Introduction

The main goal of dynamic governance cycles is to constantly improve and fine-tune the democratic processes within Alpha Dune DAO. By adopting an iterative and data-driven approach, it is the aim to find, implement, and refine the best possible governance model over time that truly reflects the collective interests of Alpha Dune’s community and encourages their active engagement.

Alpha Dune DAO will change its decision-making process over a specified time frame and run several governance seasons. Seasons will consist of 4 sprints that will last 2 weeks each followed by and impact review that will last for 1 week. After the impact review a new season will start. Each season will have a total of 9 weeks.

## Seasons

Each season represents a yearly quarter and it is the timeframe where sprints and reflections take place. The season must end at the end of the third month since start.

## Sprints

Sprints represent the main recurring state of development and progress towards building the Alpha Dune network. They consist of short periods of time during which specific tasks and goals are accomplished within the governance cycle. Each sprint is made of 2 weeks of progress, and there are 5 sprints in each season.

Each sprint can be treated differently according to the needs, challenges and opportunities that take place in that period but it also needs to follow the OKRs that were established at the start of the season. The list of priorities can always change in a dynamic way depending on the context and position of the Alpha Dune network.

During each sprint there can be:

* Proposal Implementation
* Feature Development
* Grant Allocation
* Other Relevant Tasks

## Reflection

Reflection is a 2 weeks period of analysis where 2 key areas are addressed:

1. Review the finished sprints based on the objectives and key results (OKRs) that were set during the previous reflection and make a general overview of the impact and results of the sprints.
2. Create new OKRs for the next season.

## Community Calls

At the end of each month there is at least one community call scheduled on Discord and Twitter where feedback is gathered and assessments are made.

## Types of Alpha Dune Proposals (ADPs)

Alpha Dune Proposals (ADPs) represent the main category under which members can submit proposals.

## Voting Quorum

The following quorum needs to be achieved in order for a proposal in the listed category to pass the voting stage.

## Transition Between Each Stage

During **Stage 0**, our aim is to foster as many valuable ideas from the community as possible. With the help of the Alpha Dune guardians, we can measure the interest that each proposed idea has from the community.&#x20;

If the proposed idea gathers enough traction from the community, it will move to **Stage 1** where the proposal will become formalized and there will be an overview on how to balance the ends and means of that proposal. During this stage, the community interest in the proposal needs to be maintained.

If the proposal is formalized and the community interest is maintained, the submission will go to a governance vote where the stakeholders will decide on the future of the proposal.


# Formal ADP Template

### A proposal typically includes:

* **Abstract** - Two or three sentences that summarize the proposal.
* **Motivation** - A statement on why the Alpha Dune community should implement the proposal.
* **Rationale** - An explanation of how the proposal aligns with the Alpha Dune Community's mission and guiding values.
* **Specifications** - A detailed breakdown of the technologies that will be used.
* **Steps to Implement** - A breakdown for each step necessary for implementation and information regarding resources for each step where applicable.
* **Timeline** - Relevant timing details, including but not limited to start date, milestones, and completion dates.
* **Budget** - The total cost to implement the proposal.

The author can add additional information if necessary to fully communicate the intentions, specifics, and implications of the ADP draft.

**Proposals that did not make it through the respective approval process and are being resubmitted should also include:**

* Link to original proposal.
* Reason it was not approved.
* Changes that have been made and why it should now be approved.


# Voting Process

Alpha Dune DAO’s consensus mechanism aims to make placing votes fair, transparent, and low-cost, so that Alpha Dune holders can participate in the decision-making of the DAO.

### Voting Mechanism

Snapshot will be the main voting tool because:

* doesn’t require gas payment.
* ensures transparency.
* expands governance participation to all holders of Alpha Dune.

### Voting Process <a href="#voting-mechanism" id="voting-mechanism"></a>

1. **Moderators post ADPs to Snapshot** after ensuring that each one has gone through the correct approvals process. New ADPs are posted at the start of each sprint. This is when the 7-day voting window opens as well.
2. **DAO members vote on Snapshot**. One DUNE token is equal to one vote. As votes cannot be divided into fractions and the total number of votes shouldn’t ever exceed the number of tokens minted, the number of votes will be rounded down if a fractional number of tokens is owned by the voter (i.e., 100.1 tokens will result in 100 votes, and so will 100.9 tokens). The voting options for a Live ADP are “In favor” and “Against.” Voting “In favor” means the voter is in favor of implementing the ADP exactly as-is. Voting “Against” means the vote is against implementing the AIP exactly as-is — you may vote “Against” to encourage the author to resubmit the AIP after making changes.
3. **The voting for each proposal in each weekly batch will be open for voting from the start of one sprint for 7 days.**
4. **Proposals that receive a majority “In favor” vote are moved into implementation**. Proposals that are rejected will have the chance to be resubmitted via the appropriate Resubmission Template if the author contacts a moderator to initiate this process. If by the Vote Close Time the Live AGP has not gotten any votes or is tied, it will be tagged as “Rejected” and be eligible for Resubmission.
